Shandong Taikai High Voltage Switchgear Co., Ltd. is a large specialized enterprise engaged in R&D and manufacture of five series of products: 1100kV and below outdoor high-volt SF6 circuit breakers, GIS, compound insulated combined electrical apparatus, prefabricated substations and equipment for live working.

The company has a registered capital of 1 billion CNY (~143 million USD), and total asset of 3.6 billion CNY (~514 million USD). It covers an area of 500,000 m2, with a building area of 250,000 m2, and has total staff of about 3,850, including 842 professional and technical personnel.

Over the years, the company has been ranking among the top three in the national high-voltage switchgear industry in terms of the comprehensive economic indicator. It is the vice president of the High-voltage Switch Industry Association. "Taikai" high-voltage switchgears have been rated as Shandong famous brands and national inspection-free products, and won 378 national patents.

The company has laid great emphasis on the R&D of new products, equipped with strong capabilities of R&D and production. The cooperation with such institutions as Tsinghua University, China Electric Power Research Institute, Xi’an High Voltage Electrical Apparatus Research Institute, Wuhan High Voltage Electrical Apparatus Research Instituteand Mitsubishi, functions as a powerful alliance, providing us with strong support on technology as well as R&D. The 72.5kV ~1100kV GIS and 12kV ~ 1100kV circuit breakers manufactured by our company have succeeded in the type tests at the world-renowned Dutch KEMA test station and Xi’an High Voltage Electrical Apparatus Research Institute. The products are characterized by advanced technology, reliable quality, prompt delivery and excellent service, and thus have been widely acknowledged by users. The products have taken the lead in winning the bids of the State Grid and China Southern Power Grid for consecutive years, and are widely applied in five power generation groups, petroleum, chemical industry, metallurgy, railway, new energy and other industries. The products are sold across the country and are exported to Russia, India, Bangladesh, Iran, Senegal, Pakistan and many other countries. The total number of GIS in operation has reached 24,000 while the number of circuit breakers in use has reached 19,000.
